PRODUCER
|
SHELLEY M. SHIER & BROADWAY BOUND
|

|
Shelley
has been involved with the entertainment industry since
she was a child, and comes from a family that owned
jazz and blues clubs, invested in Broadway shows and
financed many notable motion pictures. A native of Toronto,
Shelley left Canada as a teenager to study with Stella
Adler in New York (1976-1980), and work with The Soho
Artists Theater Company.
In 1983, Shelley formed HOSS, Inc.
with Hank ONeal, and went on
to produce hundreds of large-scale musical and theatrical
productions throughout the world. For two decades, she
has worked with thousands of celebrated entertainers,
such as Tony Bennett, Carol Burnett, Della Reese, Tommy
Tune, Sofia Loren, Audrey Hepburn, Bill Cosby, and Liza
Minnelli to name a few.
Shelley formed Broadway Bound, Inc.
in 1998. This theatrical production company, devoted
to developing new venues for the presentation of original
musical plays and revues, was immediately successful.
A series of remarkable shows appeared in quick succession,
four of which are still running. The Broadway
Bound productions of Enter the Guardsman,
The Wonderful Words of Sammy Cahn, Cant
Stop the Music, The Game of Love, and
Hooray for Hollywood! were presented in The Grand
Theater aboard the QE2, and Off-Broadway
in New York City. Broadway Bounds
newest production, The Hit Parade, premiers in May
2003. Shelley has always been committed to producing
the most original, widely accessible and highest quality
theatrical entertainment.
When not producing large-scale musical events and theatrical
productions, Shelley devotes her time to charitable
causes, including special events for Save The Children,
Tomorrows Children and The Jazz Foundation Of
America. A Black Belt in karate, Shelley teaches both
martial arts and kickboxing. She is a member of Women
in Music, The Blues Foundation, the National Alliance
of Musical Theatre, and is featured in Whos Who
In America.
