present many different workshops and roundtable
discussions for guests. These presentations play an integral
part in creating a well-rounded theatrical experience.
In these smaller and more intimate settings, guests
interact and participate in a relaxed environment.
Broadway Bound company members offer interesting
and useful insights into the world of theatre and
assist
each
guest in
understanding how theatre plays into everyday life.
Several of Broadway Bound’s presentations are:
Interpreting Shakespeare
This program focuses on some of Shakespeare’s
most famous monologues and soliloquies. Guests
learn techniques which bring Shakespeare to life.
Auditioning for Stage and Camera
This program will focus on auditioning monologues
for the stage, screen, and commercials. Guests
will learn
all aspects of auditioning in the business.
The techniques learned in this class also apply to
public speaking.
Theatre Classics
This program presents an overview of theatre
in the 20th Century, with an emphasis on
award-winning shows. Guests are treated to lively,
anecdotal
presentations
that appeal to theatre buffs and amateurs
alike.
Theatre
Classics – Scene Study
This program, too, will familiarize the guests
with some of the most famous plays in theatre
history.
In addition, guests, with the aid of the
instructor, will analyze scenes from noted
plays and perform
them.
Who
Says You’re Not Funny?
It’s not as hard as you think, even though
the great English actor, Edmund Gwenn said on his
deathbed, “Death is easy. Comedy is hard.” Learn
how to tell a joke. Learn why timing is everything.
How to Relax Onstage
Not everyone has butterflies when the
curtain goes up. For many actors the
entire process
is as natural
as breathing. Learn the secrets of
movement, appearing natural, and looking your best
both on stage and
in the boardroom.
The Current Season
Guests will learn about
the exciting new plays being presented
in
London and New
York City and will get tips from
people who have actually appeared
on Broadway and the West End.
